Our Story

The story of this urban distillery begins in the desert. It started, like all good stories do, around a campfire and under the stars. Whiskey bottles being passed around between friends.  Music playing. Stories being shared. We talked about our favorite whiskey styles, brands, and distilleries. We started thinking about what we would do if we could start our own brand. What it would be like. What spirits we would make. What kind of company we would build. We talked through the night until the fire was burned down to embers. With the fire low, the stars shining bright this idea was born in the dead of the night.

We had an idea to create our own brand of spirits that we would be proud to share with our friends and family.   Our goal is to create small batches of bold, exciting, challenging, and complex spirits that reflect the Californian spirit. We also wanted to experiment with flavors and unusual spirits. Sprits like Aquavit, Soju, Anisette, Amaro, Vodka infusions, unusual flavored rums and west coast gin. We wanted to experiment and try new things.

Beyond the spirits we wanted to make, we thought of the type of company we would build. We wanted to build a company that gave back to the community that supports it. One that help build up instead of bulldozing over. In recent months we have been given an unexpected opportunity to become the type of company that always felt we should be. Whether it was switching production to make hand sanitizer for our local hospital, or making donations to non-profits that build up the youth in their community, we have been excited to finally be able to give back in a meaningful way. And we will continue to do so as we grow.
